A clash between two U.S. Men’s National Team stars took centerstage on Friday, but it was an American fullback that stole the show.

Erich Lichaj scored the first of  Nottingham Forest’s three goals, leading the Championship club to a 3-1 win over Birmingham City. The goal was Lichaj’s fourth career finish, and second since joining Nottingham Forest in 2013.

In Germany, Christian Pulisic and John Brooks went head to head as Borussia Dortmund tied Hertha Berlin, 1-1. Both USMNT stars went 90 minutes, as the two saw their sides reduced to 10 men in the final six minutes.

Elsewhere, Russel Canouse faced off with Andrew Wooten, while William Yarbrough returned to action with CLuc Leon following the international break.

  1. Curious why lihaj can get no love from Jurgun
also why dont any reporters really delve into this? Juerguen himself preaches that he wants players to go to the grocery store and hear about their performance. So JK himself should also get the questions. or maybe we ask un the next facebook live

  2. That’s impressive from Lichaj, or any player for that matter! It’s still a mystery as to why he doesn’t get more looks from Jurgen, this will go a long ways to making future call ups more likely

    • Unfortunately I don’t think this will help him get any future call-ups. I’ve always thought Lichaj was a good defender….on par with Orozco at the very least….but for some reason JK doesn’t rate him.
