The NCAA Tournament’s Cinderella story took another step toward an improbably run at the Final Four, while the defending champions took another step towards a potential repeat.

After knocking out the top-seed in Maryland last week, Providence eked out a late winner over Creighton to keep its season going. The Friars will now face North Carolina, which advanced past Syracuse courtesy of a first-half goal from Jeremy Kelly.

Defending champion Stanford needed overtime to beat Stanford, with Foster Langsdorf netting the winning goal in the 106th minute on Sunday. The Cardinal will now face Louisville, which enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win over Notre Dame on Sunday.

Clemson put two past Albany after the 80th minute to set up a quarterfinal matchup with Denver. Clemson’s Austin Burnikel starred in this match, scoring two goals and assisting on the other.

Virginia Tech eliminated Indiana, 2-1, in overtime thanks to Forrest White’s first goal of the season. The Hokies will face familiar foe Wake Forest. The number two seed beat SIU-Edwardsville, 2-1, on Sunday.
