Sunday morning is another busy one for Europe’s elite, while the evening is headlined by some big-time MLS playoff clashes.

The action starts early in England, as the North London Derby kickstarts the day’s action as Tottenham takes on Arsenal. Fellow title contender Liverpool joins the fray a bit later against Watford, while Bob Bradley’s Swansea City hosts Manchester United as the American coach searches for his first win with the Welsh club.

In Spain, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are in action, while Juventus takes on Chievo Verona to highlight the Serie A schedule.

The evening is dominated by MLS, beginning with the Colorado Rapids’ clash with the LA Galaxy. The two New York teams soon follow, as the New York Red Bulls host the Montreal Impact before NYCFC takes on Toronto FC. Comments

    • Five goals in his last 6 games and at least one assist. He’s only been called to two camps and its been over a year since the last one, but no American striker is on that hot of a streak over the last month.

      • One I don’t care how old he is, I’m talking for next week not 2018, and two everybody got all excited for Bobby Wood when he was scoring in the 2Bundesliga. Of course he didn’t make it so it kind of doesn’t matter anyway.

  1. Turned on the Man United/Swansea match late with the anticipation of the usual “Bob Bradley early goal” conceded and was, unfortunately, correct.

    • Previous manager 4 pts in 7 matches 6-12 Goals
      Bradley 1 pt through 3 1/2 matches 3-9 Goals

You can take two opinions off these stats, one the team is just bad, or two Bradley’s run is even worse than the run that got Guidolin fired.

Management can’t wait too long if this run continues, relegation is a big financial hit. Hope they’ll keep him on through the January transfer window and bring in a couple of players, but its not like Swansea is known as big spenders.

      • Yea, I remember looking at the fixture listing when Bradley was hired and thinking it was going to be a rough start.

However, they do have some light at the end of the tunnel to hopefully pick up some points soon. Clubs like; Crystal Palace, Sunderland, West Brom and Middlesbrough and Bournemouth. By no stretch do I think Swansea are better than the clubs referenced but that may pose as the best chance to pick up 3 points in a few matches.

I’m not sure what Bradley would target, in terms of value, in the transfer market but I have to believe if he’s given until January we’ll see some players targeted that fit “his system” on the cheap. Maybe even some loans…that happen to be American?

      • Why would you say worse? He’s got 3 more matches to get one victory to match that point total. Not likely to get anything at Tottenham, but Palace and Everton are both beatable.

When they hired Bradley, I doubt it was to work a miracle and suddenly not only save a sinking ship but immediately turn it into a winner. He will be given time to change the culture and bring in some players in January. If he starts dropping points to other relegation fighters at home then it might be time to worry. He’s lost to Arsenal, Man United, and Stoke. I think anyone would look at those three teams and say they should beat a team with the talent of Swansea.

      • I think they’ll try to keep him through January, but look at the last four games for the bottom teams

        Stoke 3-0-1 10 pts
        West ham 2-1-1 7 pts
        Middlesborough 1-1-2 5 pts
        Bournemouth 1-2-1 4 pts
        Leicester 1-2-1 4 pts
        Hull City 1-3 3 pts
        Sunderland 1-3 3 pts
        Palace 0-4 0 pts

The Swans have lost ground to everyone except Palace over Bradley’s time. If they don’t gain 5 pts over the next four I don’t see how they can keep him past Christmas. The positive for Bradley is that there are no natural breaks after this week until Jan. 3 where they have 10 days off. Premier League clubs lose about 65 million pounds just in TV revenue when they are relegated, Bob maybe a good guy, but the ownership can’t wait too long or they lose their investment.

  2. Does anyone know what’s going on with Rubio Rubin, he went from starting to not seeing the field under this new manager, any news of injury or just not in favor with the new manager

    Reply
    • They signed a kid from Ajax on loan on August 16. Rubin started his last match Aug 21, and Zivkovic (loanee) subbed in for Rubin and has been starting ever since. Haller and Joosten split the rest of the minutes. Utrecht has been on their best form of the season earning 10 pts from their last four matches so a change currently would seem unlikely.

  3. When is Klinsi going to announce our squad for these important matches, after the election? I hope he does not forget to include Miguel Ibarra. He may be the difference this time in the Cero a Dos.
