Steven Gerrard is hanging up his boots.
The former Liverpool captain and LA Galaxy Designated Player announced his retirement on Thursday, putting an end to an 18-year career.
Gerrard, 36, recently announced that he would not be returning to the Galaxy, which left his future up in the air. The Englishman recorded five goals and 14 assists in 34 appearances in MLS.
The ex-England international also amassed more than 500 Premier League appearances with Liverpool, winning a Champions League and UEFA Cup, along with two FA Cups and three League Cups.
