The U.S. Men’s National Team moved down in the latest FIFA World Rankings after back-to-back defeats to Mexico and Costa Rica.

The USMNT is now ranked at No. 28 after slipping down four spots, but it is still the third highest-ranked team in CONCACAF.

Costa Rica is now on top of CONCACAF at No. 17 after passing Mexico, who is now at No. 18. Los Ticos won their opening two matches of the Hexagonal phase of World Cup qualifying, while El Tri picked up four points.

Elsewhere, Argentina is still No. 1, but Brazil is now second after winning both of their qualifiers earlier this month. Germany slipped to No. 3, while Chile, Belgium, Colombia, France, Portugal, Uruguay and Spain make up the rest of the top 10.

  1. We lose our last two qualifiers… how could we not go down? That being said, it can only go up now that the main problem is gone. This was about a year overdue.
