A pair of Premier League sides clash in the English Football League Cup Semifinals on Wednesday afternoon, as each seeks to reach the finals of the prestigious knockout tournament.

Southampton play the hosts as they welcome Liverpool to St. Mary’s Stadium in leg one of their semifinal match. While Liverpool are certainly having the better season in the Premier League, currently in second behind Chelsea, each team enters the match on equal footing today. The Reds will likely field a full-strength squad, as they don’t play Manchester United until Sunday, as they seek to tally a few away goals to seize an early advantage in this two-legged fixture. Southampton meanwhile will attempt to buckle down and shut down a proficient Liverpool attack.

Over in Spain, Copa del Rey action returns to the Camp Nou as Barcelona seek to dig themselves out of the 2-1 hole they currently find themselves in to Athletic Bilbao. After the shock upset last week, the Blaugrana will attempt to come back and seize victory from defeat behind the frightening attack of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar.
