John Brooks did all he could on Saturday, but it wasn’t quite enough to help Hertha Berlin earn a statement win.

For 90 minutes-plus, Brooks led Hertha Berlin with a stellar performance in defense but a 96th minute goal from Robert Lewandowski sealed a late split of the points. Brooks’ was Hertha’s standout in the match, one which sees them capture their 34th point. The point takes them to within one point of Timmy Chandler and fifth-place Eintracht Frankfurt, who fell to Alfredo Morales and Ingolstadt.

English action was headlined by Brad Guzan, who played all 90 minutes in Middlesbrough’s FA Cup win over Oxford United. David Wagner and Huddersfield Town earned a big draw, forcing a replay against Manchester City.

In Scotland, Perry Kitchen provided an assist for Hearts, but it wasn’t enough to earn a win in a 1-1 draw with Inverness. Bjorn Johnsen earned a runout as well, playing 50 minutes.

Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic entered as a substitute in Borussia Dortmund’s win while Terrence Boyd and Darmstadt fell to Hoffenheim.
