Americans Abroad Wednesday Rewind: Hyndman, Kitchen, Yedlin and more

Emerson Hyndman found the back of the net for the second time in as many games, but it wasn’t enough for his side to overcome Perry Kitchen and Hearts.

Kitchen played a full 90 minutes, helping lead Hearts to a 4-1 thumping of Rangers on Wednesday. After a Hearts opener, Hyndman scored the equalizing goal in the 36th minute before the floodgates opened with a trio of second half goals. Hyndman’s finish is his second in as many starts since joining the Scottish club on loan.

DeAndre Yedlin’s Newcastle was a bit less fortunate than Kitchen’s Hearts, as the U.S. Men’s National Team defender saw his side settle for a 2-2 draw in Championship play. Elsewhere in the league, Tim Ream helped maintain a clean sheet, leading Fulham to a 2-0 win over Burton Albion.

Here’s a closer look at all of Wednesday’s Americans Abroad:

Geoff Cameron did not dress in Stoke City’s 1-1 draw with Everton. (Cameron is injured)

Josh Perez did not dress in Fiorentina’s 2-1 win over Pescara.

  1. Bjorn also had an assist. From reading Rangers twitter it seems like (even before this game) the fans absolutely love Hyndman, and consider him one of the best players on their team already. Also I highly recommend reading tweets from Scottish fans, hilarious.
