SBI Question of the Day: What do you think of the new U.S. Soccer jerseys?

Late on Valentine’s Day, U.S. Soccer released a new red National Team jersey.

The new jersey is all-red design, in a similar style to 2016’s National Team jerseys. An altered, all-red crest features on both the jersey and shorts, which also have a single black stripe down the length of the uniform with the sleeves a darker shade of red.

The new jerseys will debut at the 2017 SheBelieves Cup that is set for March 1st to March 7th, while the U.S. Men’s National Team will make their first appearance in the new jersey on March 24th in World Cup Qualifying against Honduras.

The jersey has been the source of some controversy, with some praising the bold coloring that is a departure from the sometimes bland 2016 editions, but many feel that the jersey is too similar to Nike’s other efforts with England, Portugal, and others.

Do you like the bold new color? Is it too similar to 2016’s jerseys? How do you feel about the similarity to other jerseys around the world?

Have your say in the poll below, and state your reasoning in the comment section.

  1. Looks jackass to ever change the colors of the crest to match a kit…another crap color fiasco from Nike.

Give me the centennial kit for the next 50 years…

  2. Just curious. My wife helped me check on the US vs Honduras March qualifier tickets. First, there’s a lottery process which is cool. Secondly, the ticket prices are outrageously high, cheapest seats at $160 something. Are you kidding me?

    • It is clear that Nike comes up with a format and then applies it to all of the national teams it supplies. Remember a few years ago when everyone had the jersey with the numbers circled on the back? Holland, Portugal US Brazil, etc. had them.
