Toronto FC’s American Designated Players have returned from U.S. Men’s National Team duty, but they are not 100 percent fit.

According to Sportsnet, forward Jozy Altidore has minor knee inflammation, while Michael Bradley has an unspecified virus.

Both players are participating in light training, but won’t fully partake in training until the team deems them to be 100 percent healthy. TFC is taking a cautious approach as they ease back into practice.

Altidore and Bradley both started the USMNT’s first friendly of 2017 against Serbia before entering the 1-0 win versus Jamaica as substitutes.

  1. I wonder what impact either of these ailments had on the Jamaica game. Was Bruce really trying a new lineup, or did he have to change based on these two not being 100%?

    • Zardes got a bruised knee during the USMNT camp and did not play for Galaxy vs Tijuana earlier this week, During the camp it didn’t sound too serious, but that was why he didn’t play in either of the friendlies.

Having strikers like Kekuta Manneh, Aron Johannsson and Juan Agudelo also

…we have more than enough fire power up top, so no worries.
    Get well soon

    • Vfb Stuttgart is NOT a bundesliga side. They are in the second division.
I Ike Julian green. Hell, I got a jersey with his name on the back after the World Cup in 2014.
But that guy just NOW started playing regularly again.

    • Manneh would result in a loss for sure … on account of we would have to forfeit for using an illegal player. His paperwork from FIFA has not come through yet.

    • …this is where more strikers need to make the most of their opportunity, like Bobby Wood has, in staking a claim to getting minutes.

Outside of Wood, it’s a murders row of injury plagued and inconsistent forwards who do just enough to stay in the discussion, but not enough to warrant any serious argument.

      • Bobby has done more than make a claim for minutes. While both being available is the best case scenario, Wood is the better of the two currently and has the higher ceiling. I don’t know if Bruce will see it that way, but IMO it’s hardly debatable. And I say this again, as someone who likes and roots for Jozy. He simply does everything Jozy can do and most of them better.

      • I agree whammmm, Wood is showing off right now and needs to be considered to start in March. For those of us hollering it’s time for Bradley to be replaced, this will not doubt drum up that speculation although there is plenty of time for MB90 to get healthy and in form before facing Honduras.

      • Yea, I don’t think I made myself clear or I was misunderstood.

I’m not minimizing Wood, but using him as an example of someone making the most of his opportunties. The rest or a bunch of no names people get excited about until we’re reminded of how underwhelming the rest of the bunch are.

      • Ronniet: I’m sure your tongue was firmly planted in your cheek, but he seems to have the flu or a cold, doubt you will get your wish.
