U.S. U-20s vs. St. Kitts & Neves: Your Running Commentary

5qnbt8o3

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team can push their World Cup ambitions forward on Friday, but the’ll have to take care of St. Kitts & Neves to do so.

Following a huge win over Haiti, the U.S. takes on the CONCACAF minnow in the last match of the initial group stage of World Cup qualifying. If Panama defeats Haiti, a win or a tie would be enough to send the U.S. through and even a Haiti win could open up a goal differential race if the U.S. handles last-place St. Kitts.

The U.S. will be riding high following a 4-1 win over Haiti, one which saw Brooks Lennon lead the way with a hat-trick. The win served as a much-needed bounce back as the U.S. looks to seal spot in the second stage on Friday night.

  1. Saucedo looks slow and indecisive. This is the second match I have watched this tournament and I have been pretty disappointed in his play.

    • Spoke a bit too soon Haha. Definitely not been at his best this tournament, but close the half pretty damn strong. That free kick was wonderful. Got a bit of help from bad goalkeeping on the first, but definitely could be a momentum-boosting half for him.

    • Speaking of Lennon, how much playing time do u think he will receive at RSL and does Liverpool really expect anything from him after his return from loan?

      • Definitely expect him to get some solid minutes, even in that talented young attacking unit. Pretty crazy how many dynamic young stars RSL has coming up. Lennon, Saucedo, Allen, even Glad. Hell, even Plata is only 24. Rusnak just 22. Should be a bright future.

As for Liverpool, hard to know. English academies are super cutthroat, even if Liverpool is in a fairly stable place under Klopp. For a team chasing, like Liverpool is, it’s hard to see many players breaking through with the first team barring something spectacular.
