Americans Abroad Saturday Rewind: Johnson, Pulisic, Williams and more

Christian Pulisic stole headlines with a goal and an assist for Borussia Dortmund, but the young midfielder didn’t even provide the best Bundesliga performance on Saturday.

That distinction belongs to Fabian Johnson, who provided a pair of goals in Borussia Monchengladbach’s win over Schalke. The goals were Johnson’s second and third goals of the season. Pulisic, meanwhile, scored his third league goal of the season off the bench on Saturday while also providing an assist in a Borussia Dortmund win.

Danny Williams also brought his attacking game on Saturday as the Reading midfielder provided an assist as his shot was deflected in during a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanders. DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle, meanwhile, opened up a five point gap atop the Championship as the U.S. Men’s National Team fullback came off the bench in yet another victory.

It wasn’t all good news for Americans, though, as Jonathan Bornstein was sent off in a lopsided loss in Liga MX play.
