Bingham replaces Guzan on USMNT roster

San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham has replaced Brad Guzan on the U.S. Men’s National Team for the upcoming training camp, U.S. Soccer announced on Thursday.

Guzan will miss the camp as he and his wife await the birth of their second child.

Bingham joins Tim Howard and Nick Rimando in the 24-player camp, which convenes in San Jose, California on Sunday.

The USMNT plays Honduras on March 24 in San Jose beore traveling to Panama City to face Panama on March 28.

    • Are you serious? It’s the birth of his child. You have to be there, if you can. God forbid something goes wrong.

      People act like the USMNT is in a disaster in qualification. They played 2 of 10 games from qualification. Again TWO of TEN. Those were the 2nd and 3rd hardest games on the schedule (at Mexico is hardest). Those were 2 games that the US would only get 3 points out of 6. You need 16 to historically qualify and avoid playoff. Let’s call it 18 to make it safe. So win 6 wins of 8 OR 5 wins and 1 or 2 ties.

      • I know Old School can defend himself, but what are you talking about? I think you misread his comment as he was joking about Bingham’s unfortunate hairstyle choice not taking a jab at Guzan.
