Lletget evaluation shows ‘no significant damage’

Good news for the LA Galaxy and U.S. Men’s National Team, as it appears that neither will be missing midfielder Sebastian Lletget for too long.

Lletget was forced off the field on Friday during the 18th minute of the eventual USMNT 6-0 rout of Honduras, as he appeared to be severely hampered by a left foot injury. However, an evaluation of the sprained foot on Sunday showed no significant damage. Lletget is slated to see a specialist on Monday.

Opening the scoring for the USMNT in the fifth minute, Lletget tapped home a rebound from a saved Christian Pulisic shot to net the eventual game winner early for the Americans. His goal started a deluge that would see Pulisic add a goal of his own while notching two assists, captain Michael Bradley score one from outside the box, and returning veteran Clint Dempsey marking his big comeback with a hat trick.

While the injury to Lletget does not seem serious, the Galaxy have not stated whether he will be available for the team’s next match on April 1st against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

  1. It almost seemed like he hurt it exaggerating the foul. It was a rough challenge but the way he flung himself seemed pretty extreme.

    • about which you were apparently wrong. You think a guy trying to crack the US National team, after just scoring his first international goal, is going to fake so hard that he takes himself out of a game three minutes later?

Glad to hear he’s gonna be ok. Galaxy need him, Nats can use him too.

    • I would suggest you watch the highlight reel on SBI a few pages south. It was clearly apparent that the slide pressed in on his planted leg. Fortunately he was on the move to unplant it which lessened the potential of injury significantly.
