The MLS regular season opened on Friday night, but the action truly heats up with a full Saturday schedule.

A total of seven games are on the schedule on Saturday, headlined by a clash between FC Dallas and the LA Galaxy. The two Western Conference powerhouses collide at StubHub Center as the new-look Galaxy take on last year’s double winners.

The action starts in Columbus as the Crew take on the fire while the afternoon is headlined by several inter-conference clashes. In the evening, the MLS Cup champions, the Seattle Sounders, take on the Houston Dynamo as they look to begin their title defense.

The SBI staff will be offering updates and analysis in the comments section below, so feel free to follow along, and as always, please feel free to share your own thoughts and opinions below.

Enjoy the action.

  1. Crew facing the Fire and they go up a goal in the 17th minute through Ethan Finlay. Justin Meram with the assist.

    • VERY good first half from the Crew, who lead, 1-0, in Columbus. Fire with too many giveaways, Crew keeping control. Finlay goal the difference, but expect changes for the Fire in the second 45.

      • GOAL ACCAM! Fire outplayed for the first 70 or so minutes, but Accam pops up with an equalizer. Deflected through ball and Accam jumps on it before wiggling through the defense. Great attacking effort and it’s 1-1.

      • Final in Chicago as Accam’s goal earns the Fire a road point against the Crew. Two different halves. Fire significantly better in the second half.

      • I know it’s the first game but how did Zack Steffen look? Do you think it’s possible that he creeps up the USMNT depth chart with a good season
