In a clash of U.S. Men’s National Team regulars, it was Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund that came out on top in resounding fashion.
The USMNT winger entered the fray as a substitute on Tuesday, helping Dortmund topple Bobby Wood and Hamburg by a 3-0 scoreline. Wood started and played a majority of the match, creating several chances in the process, but the Hamburg forward failed to score the vital goal needed to get his side back into what turned out to be a lopsided loss.
In England, Geoff Cameron returned to the Stoke City lineup as a defensive midfielder against Burnley. His play helped Stoke allow just one goal, but that one goal was enough for Burnley to earn a narrow 1-0 win in Premier League play.
Another USMNT defender, Omar Gonzalez, played a big game on Tuesday, leading Pachuca to a 3-1 win over FC Dallas. The victory came on a late Hirving Lozano finish, helping push Gonzalez and co. into the CONCACAF Champions League final.
