While the European season winds down, one Liga MX star helped fire his team to a big victory with a goal over the weekend.
Joe Corona scored second goal of the Liga MX campaign on Friday, helping lead Tijuana to a 2-0 win over Toluca. The win sees the club continue its hot start as Xolos currently sits in first place atop the Liga MX table with a one-point gap over Edgar Castillo and Monterrey, who earned a 1-0 win over Tigres.
In German action, Timmy Chandler helped his side on the attacking end by providing an assist in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 win over Augsburg. Christian Pulisic, meanwhile, drew a penalty to help Borussia Dortmund topple Borussia Monchengladbach while John Brooks helped Hertha Berlin earn a clean sheet against Wolfsburg.
Elsewhere, Emerson Hyndman and Rangers came up short in their rivalry match with Celtic while Brad Guzan and Middlesbrough faced a barrage of goals in a 4-0 loss to Bournemouth.
