The U.S. Men’s National Team’s recent World Cup qualifying success produced a boost to the team’s FIFA ranking.

FIFA’s monthly rankings were unveiled on Thursday as the U.S. saw a seven-spot leap. Now ranked 23rd, the U.S. sits three spots behind 20th-ranked Costa Rica and seven spots behind 16th-ranked Mexico, which sits as CONCACAF’s top ranked nation.

Brazil moves atop the rankings as it continues to steamroll through World Cup qualifying, leapfrogging an Argentina team that now sits second. Belgium saw a two-spot drop down to seventh while Colombia and Switzerland move into fifth and ninth, respectively.

Uruguay fell six spots to 15th following its recent round of World Cup qualifying while the Netherlands proved to be the big movers in the top 50 with an 11 spot drop to 32nd. The big winners proved to be Northern Ireland, who jumped nine spots up to 26th in the world.

Panama and Honduras, the USMNT’s two March opponents, sit 57th and 68th respectively. The U.S. returns to the Hexagonal in June for clashes with Mexico and 76th-ranked Trindad & Tobago.
