The Bundesliga season comes to an end over the weekend as Bobby Wood and Hamburg battle for the right to stay in the top flight.
Wood and Hamburg enter Sunday’s season finale against Wolfsburg knowing that a win will keep them in the Bundesliga for another year while a loss would send the club towards a relegation playoff. If relegated, Wood’s Hamburg would join Terrence Boyd’s Darmstadt and Alfredo Morales’ Ingolstadt in the 2. Bundesliga.
Elsewhere in Bundesliga play, a duo of young Americans could see the field for Schalke. Haji Wright and Weston McKennie are set to join the first team ahead of a clash with Morales’ Ingolstadt.
Brad Guzan and Middlesbrough look to play spoiler in Premier League action as they’ll try to end Liverpool’s Champions League hopes, while the group of Americans at Club Tijuana will look to overturn a 2-0 deficit in pursuit of a Liga MX crown in Mexico.
In other action, Shane O’Neill and NAC Breda face a promotion playoff while Ethan Horvath and Club Brugge look to lock up a Champions League berth with a win.

An off topic note but am I the only one that is getting real irritated with the mobile ads on this site? There are times where I can’t even close the ad to see the article.
It is not true that we don’t have anyone at that level. Horvath has already played at a very high level and it looks as though he has taken over as the no.1 at Club Brugge. He is progressing nicely and is on a really good path.
Wouldn’t disagree that he is progressing and on a nice path but he is NOT on that level. He probably is our future so lets hope he keeps trending up, he plays in Belgium after all.

Did you see him when he played for Molde? He backstopped their victory in the Group of Death over Ajax, Fenerbahce, and Celtic.
I’m worried about Guzan and our whole pipeline of keepers for that matter. Guzan is getting booed off the field at brough (I know, they stink) and he has never really been able to compete with Howard. I have always liked and appreciated him but I don’t think I can see him being our heir to the throne anymore. I hope his move to Atlanta proves me wrong, but I am not holding my breath.
What once seemed to be a position of relative strength for the Nats is now a real concern. You look at De Gea, Donnarumma, Oblak, Courtois… etc. We have nothing even close to that level… not even someone who shows a hint of THAT potential. I’m not saying we have to have a 17 year old superstar but mediocrity won’t cut it.
