While one young American captured a premier cup title, another helped lead his side to promotion to the top flight.
Christian Pulisic helped lead Borussia Dortmund to a win in the DFB-Pokal final, drawing the game-winning penalty kick in a 2-1 win over Timmy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt. Pulisic entered as second half substitute and was taken down in the box, allowing Pierre Emerick-Aubamayeng to fire the game-winning goal and lead the club to a German Cup trophy.
In the Netherlands, Shane O’Neill helped NAC Breda seal promotion to the Eredivise with a playoff win. On loan with the Dutch club, O’Neill played in the heart of defense to lead the way in a 5-1 aggregate win over NEC Nijmegen that sees Breda return to the top flight after suffering relegation in 2015.
Elsewhere, Steve Clark helped lead AC Horsens to a relegation playoff win while Caleb Stanko and Mix Diskerud both got extended minutes in draws.
