Bournemouth boss Howe insists club won’t sell Hyndman following loan spell

Emerson Hyndman’s performances at Rangers have caught the eye of several teams, but his parent club insists he remains a part of their future plans.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Echo, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insisted that the club is looking to bring Hyndman back at the conclusion of his loan spell. The declaration comes on the heels of reports linking Hyndman with a move to Rangers’ bitter rivals Celtic.

“You don’t invest in young players to then move them on very quickly. That defeats the object of our model,” Howe said.  “We look to bring in young and talented players and develop them and make them better. That is a long-term process. We are delighted with the progress Emerson and Lewis (Cook) are making.

“It is great to see Emerson doing so well on loan with Rangers and Lewis has performed excellently since being given his opportunity. They are outstanding young players and that hasn’t changed from the day we brought them in.”

Hyndman, who was Howe’s first signing in summer 2016, has played 14 matches since joining Rangers on loan, scoring four goals while earning honors as the club’s Young Player of the Year.
