Fagundez, Adams headline four suspended by MLS DisCo

The New England Revolution were already at a disadvantage heading into the weekend with Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo off with the U.S. Men’s National Team, but now they have another member of their attacking core to replace.

Diego Fagundez was one of four players handed a ban by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for violent conduct in the 89th minute of the Revolution’s game with Toronto FC.

The New York Red Bulls were handed a pair of blows from the DisCo, as Tyler Adams and Kemar Lawrence were both suspended one game. Adams was also issued an undisclosed fine for violent conduct in the 22nd minute of the New York derby, while Lawrence was banned for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent.

Adams will serve his suspension on July 5 against the Revolution, while Lawrence will be out of action for a match once he returns from Gold Cup action with Jamaica.

LA Galaxy defender Nathan Smith was given a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine for serious foul play for a challenge on Benny Feilhaber in the 59th minute of the loss to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo were also issued warnings by the league for their first violations of the league’s mass confrontation policy in the 78th minute of the Texas derby on Friday.
