  1. I understand Asensio is a talent, but, and I know this has been said a lot this Summer, the transfer market is bonkrrs. increasing, nearly, by whole orders of magnitude.

    Mbappe is also talent spec but he at least had a remarkable half season of actual output (20+ goals across ligue 1 and champions league, including some goals on the biggest stage).

    Asensio has a handful of goals in his career. And it’s not like he’s a midfielder, he’s a wide forward in a 4-3-3. I’m not saying he won’t be the next Spanish superstar but he’s never produced anything. Nearly $100 million dollars got you the best player in the game 8 years ago, and a top five player in the last couple years.

    What’s that MLS salary cap again? 3, 4 million?
