Timothy Weah had himself a good weekend playing for Paris Saint-Germain’s youth team against Alençon.
He hammered a shot into an empty goal after collecting a through pass and rounding the keeper. This was his first goal since scoring against Celtic in the UEFA Youth League back in September.
An integral part of the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team at this past summer’s World Cup, Weah has been with PSG since 2014.
Take a look at Weah’s goal below:

Wonder how his dad becoming President of Liberia will affect his national team affiliation? Not a great look if you’re the President and your son chooses to play for another country.
I define an empty goal as one where if you stop the ball on the goal-line, you can turn around sit on the ball and roll it over the line with your butt in a manner designed to humiliate your opponent for leaving their goal empty
agreed that the description of the goal was not accurate. and he didn’t “hammer it” either. He had to cut back to make sure to angle it properly. Not a difficult shot, but not a blast from 4 feet away, either.
The German Saints of Paris
Its named after the former Bishop of Paris, who was Frankish of Gaulish and Roman descent. Paris SC and Stade de St. Germain merged in the early 1970s, and played their matches at Camp des Loges which is the current site of the PSG training academy in the wealthy Paris suburb, St. Germain en Laye. PSG moved their matches to Parc des Princes in the mid-1970s.
St. Germain was known for his extreme generosity to the poor. A neighborhood in central Paris is also named for him, which was the location for the signing of the Treaty of Paris which ended the American Revolution. It was also home to many American expats after WWII and was home to the Paris Jazz scene.
5 months since he last scored? not good.
This match appears to be with the U19s, which don’t release their stats at least in English that I can find. Tim also plays for the PSG II (French 4th Division, amateur and reserve sides) they’re leading scorer is 24 years old but most are 19 and 20 year olds for PSG. Weah generally comes off the bench in the league and starts in the Champions League Youth matches. Also, remember he was gone with the US U17 squad for a portion of this time.
Good point.
