ABOUT SBI SOCCER
Launched in 2008 by veteran soccer writer Ives Galarcep as the blog Soccer By Ives, SBI Soccer is an internet news site focused on the coverage of American and international soccer.
Ives Galarcep has spent more than two decades covering American soccer, with the first decade as a newspaper reporter and columnist with the North Jersey Herald & News (1997-2008). He also spent time as a soccer columnist and feature writer at ESPN (2004-2010), Fox Soccer (2010-2012) and Goal.com (2013-2018). Ives has covered both Major League Soccer and the USMNT since 1999, and has covered every MLS Cup final since 2002, every Concacaf Gold Cup since 2000 and also covered four FIFA World Cup tournaments (2002-2014).
SBI Soccer has evolved into a soccer news website specializing in the coverage of MLS, Americans playing abroad and the U.S. men’s national team.
Is there any particular reason why my posts are not being published?
they are published
Hi—- I have been an avid reader of the site for years. Also a poster who uses my real name and not a moniker for posting. The last few months— for whatever reason— none of my posts ever post. There is always a message about the post— needing to be seen by the moderator– but it never posts. I’m wondering if I have said something obtuse and offensive——–or why my posts are not being published. The last article I have tried to post on was about “US Men’s National Team lacked fight and Intensity….” and my post was:
I’m not so sure a coach doesn’t have anything to do with how intense a team plays. A coach sets a standard. A coach leads by example. In my experience, the attitude of the coach – does rub off on the team, and the team reflects that in their play a lot of the time. If you have a coach that teaches x’s and o’s but isn’t demanding of the team in terms of their performance and attitude going into a match–it shows. Think about how coaches have set a team standard in the squads that you have been a part of. On the other hand—if there is a lack of pride in the shirt—THAT IS A HUGE ISSUE. Many of us old fans that have followed the team for decades can see a palatable difference in the attitude of this team and the successful teams the US has produced in previous cycles. Our attitude carried us in many games previously. We may not have had the tactics or skill to hang with certain teams, but we always competed like wild men when we played. I think this is the most disturbing part about the situation.
Can someone please look into this or get back with me and thanks.
I’ve tried to cancel my subscription three times now (via emailing SBISoccerMail@gmail.com) and have not heard back from any of my emails.
Can someone assist with my cancellation?
I will contact our editor in chief. Sorry to see you go.
How in hell do I cancel my subscripion to SBI? This page has no way I can find to get to my account. Arrghh!
Hi Chris, I will reach out to Ives to contact you.
We’re sorry to see you go.
Thanks, Larry, but I’ve yet to hear anything. I sent an email to SBISoccerMail@gmail.com on May 4 and got no reply. And I just sent another email there asking you guys to cancel my subscription.
Now I’m going to call my Visa fraud number and ask them to stop paying the $5 a month.
Chris, did you ever hear back?
Can you please do the same for me? I have tried emailing to cancel multiple times but have been unable to do so and need to stop getting charged monthly.
Alas, you might want to update this page. I would also belatedly wish the best to Matt and Tyler, whose posts I at least vaguely remember.
.
And perhaps also revisit the entire subject of the tagging of articles, which has long been (to put it mildly) haphazard? But one careful person overseeing it all and streamlining the list of tags could actually help.
.
Again, best wishes going forward.
.
.
That is, I got here via ‘About SBI.’
.
Is it possible that no one has used that tag, or updated or reviewed the list of tags, since 2008?
.
Tsk *%#?$@#ing tsk …
