You Write the Caption

Good afternoon folks. It has been a pretty eventful day in the soccer world. You had Eddie Johnson’s move to Fulham as well as plenty of European soccer to follow. You had more African Nations Cup action as well as word that the Los Angeles Galaxy would be touring Asia.

Before I get to more news in some later posts, I thought it would be a good time for the first You Write the Caption for the new Soccer By Ives. The first photo includes David Beckham, who has spent time doing some charity work in Africa.

Here is the photo, as well as a message for those who want the Galaxy to keep buying high-priced players:

"It became clear at the Galaxy’s first day of practice that spending most of the salary cap on a few star players wasn’t the way to go."

That is my caption. See if you can do better. Post your caption ideas below. Enjoy.

He’s in Sierra Leone not Kenya. I can’t think of anything and I like the pictures that came from this visit to Sierra Leone for his role as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, the U.N. child agency. He has my respect for doing humanitarian work.
