Just a day after its historic last-second upset of Liverpool on Sunday, Barnsley has drawn another giant. Chelsea will be Barnsley’s opponent in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Here is the quarterfinal draw:
- Barnsley vs. Chelsea
- Manchester United vs. Portsmouth
- Bristol Rovers vs. West Bromwich Albion
- Sheffield United/Middlesbrough vs. Cardiff City
The quarters will be played on the weekend of March 8th.
And in case you missed Barnsley’s 2-1 upset of Liverpool, here are the highlights, including the shocking game winner (at about 2:42 on the clip):
A friend of mine was leaving the Hull v Colchester game on Saturday and a big cheer went up in the crowd because the news filtered back that Barnsley won. Or more properly, the cheer was because Liverpool had been disposed of.
Everyone loves the underdog.
I concur! Please stop slagging off the Yanks!
I love when the commentators say that liverpool fans should protest Benitez instead of the American owners. How true is that.
Don’t think he’s American.
Don’t think he’s Human.
He’s the man of Steele!
ManU has drawn a Premiership club in every single fixture of the FA Cup for the last 2 years.
I can probably be safe in saying Barnsley v. Chelsea will probably have more attacking and attractive football than a Chelsea Liverpool match, which has not failed to put me asleep both times. God liverpool need torres back
Manchester will play West Brom in the final and Manchester will win handily
Wow that Barnsley Keeper must be an American
