Red Bulls reserves down College of Charleston

Red Bulls rookie Eric Brunner scored his second goal of the pre-season to give the Red Bulls reserves a 1-0 victory against the College of Charleston in pre-season action in Charleston on Monday morning.

Not much to report here aside from the fact that Red Bulls coach Richie Williams was forced to play because of a lack of numbers for the Red Bulls. He managed to avoid any red cards in his 35 minutes of action.

Another interesting note concerns forward Jerrod Laventure, who is not with the team. Laventure is out of contract and is unlikely to be re-signed, a team source told SBI on Monday.

Here is the Red Bulls reserves lineup for Monday’s match:

Danny Cepero (GK) (Caleb Patterson-Sewell 46′), Scott Palguta, Eric Brunner, Chris Leitch (Richie Williams 55′), John Gilkerson, Kevin Mesa, Sinisa Ubiparipovic, Chris Megaloudis, Michael Palacio, John Wolyniec, Ricky Schramm.

  1. I live in New York and am a fan of the Red Bulls, so I do not like to criticize them. But what the hell are they doing playing teams like College of Charleston, that is now way to get ready for the season? Its also a good way to get hurt as US College Soccer is a bit unrefined.
