  1. If he comes back, it should be to a higher profile team. Columbus ain’t it…D.C still has a DP slot don’t they? Its nice to dream….

What’s not a dream is that Fulham looks like they will be relegated, and that is bad news for the USMNT. We as a soccer nation do not have players that are at the highest echelon of the sport, in fact, our key players are about to be dropped into a league that is arguably not as good the MLS. Bocanegra is not even starting on a team about to be in Coca Cola, and he is the choice for captain of the defense on the national team? We got problems….It doesn’t encourage me to want to spend the big bucks to see these guys in South Africa.

  2. Regarding the Fulham game…the only American that played well was Keller.

EJ took a step back today. He reminded me of his Copa America outing. Joe back pass. Not taking his shots. His back heal to Murphy was creative, but did not result in anything.

For those Michael Own haters…he played well today. He scored a deserved goal and his overall play was positive. i wish our boys would have the confidence he does in scoring goals.

  3. Howard makes, without a doubt, one of the most fantastic saves I have seen in a long time. On a free kick he dives left to save the shot, only to have to shot deflected by a teammate, only to reach back with his leg and kick save the shot. Incredible.

  4. If McBride comes back to the US, I certainly hope he’d return to Columbus, rather than just the highest bidder, or whoever the league deems ‘worthy’

  5. Eddie Johnson didn’t look lazy to me. He ran all game he fought for every header. He just looked like he has no skill and has no idea what to do. The last back pass the defender pulled 10 yards off him before he made it because the defender knew he wasn’t going to make a move up the field. Dempsey looked inspired and attacking in his short time on the field. I agree with Mighty Clint needs to get to a different club.

  6. Fulham can you at least win the next two to make the battle of America against Reading in 3 weeks mean something?

Eddie next week you get to play at Derby. Remember that was the club you turned down. If you play like crap next week they are going to be really happy they didn’t spend their money on your sorry a**.

  7. Maybe Johnson still has time to learn the english game but he should know that he looks lazy out there and with out effort he is going to go nowhere.

  8. Edie Johnson did nothing. Can’t imagine why he wasn’t subbed for David Healy. Agree with the others. Timid and just passing back. Useless. Fulham going down. All the other relegation teams won including Reading. I think Reading will survive!

  9. Agreed Dano….I was adding to your post and making sure we know all three parts of the field today were miserable for Fuham. No creativity or poss in the middle, not many, if any, productive counter attacks and nobody taking ANY chances up top to make something happen.

  10. Defence is so bad….. they can not pass the ball, headers going the other team players. My question is how bad is bocanegra if he can not crack the starting line up…….Cause the BocaNegra i know is much better then those players.

Also Lets be honest is not Good for Dempsey and EJ to be playing in this team. Dempsey needs a team that builds him up and playing with EJ is not doing any good.

EJ can stay in tis team and learn. McBride come back Home!!!

    Keller go to Seattle!!!

Fullham thank you for hiring our players!!!

Boca!!!!! Get yourself back in the starting line up!

  11. Here’s hoping Fulham stops giving the ball away in the midfield at every opportunity and also learn how to play tight defense when an opposing striker has possesion in the final third.

  12. “Listen Fullham Defence is Bad……..! They do not deserve to be in the EPL. I love the american players, but this is not a good team.”

To be fair – not many Americans running around the in the defense lately. Bocanegra’s been stuck on the bench (maybe Newcastle can take a shot at him this summer) and the rest don’t work together well.

  13. It isn’t often that you can describe a professional athlete as lazy, but EJ has had the laziest game I think I’ve ever seen out of a striker. Here’s hoping he doesn’t get called into the next US camp.

  16. It may be time to bring back the “Eddie Johnson Back-Pass Drinking Game” from the dead. We haven’t played that game for quite some time.

  17. “Martins is awesome, except for the fact that he is a ball hog.”

That’s probably the exact comment that EJ is trying to avoid. You’ve got a dozen comments above telling EJ to shoot more and drive at the defense, and the one player for either team who does that consistently – as a striker should – is called a “ball hog.”

  18. Everytime EJ gets it, he automatically passes it backward, he needs to turn-around and take his man on, so frustrating to watch him…
