Man City eyeing Ronaldinho bid
That other team in Manchester is reportedly lining up a bid for disgruntled Barcelona star Ronaldinho. Yes, I know, you can file this one under the "What are they smoking" department but Ronaldinho’s brother/agent was spotted at a Man City match recently. So should we buy it? No, not really, but you must admit that a Manchester Derby with Ronaldinho on one side and Cristiano Ronaldo on the other would make for great theater.
Cech has facial surgery
Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech was on the verge of coming back from an ankle injury after missing nine matches but the Czech goalkeeper is out again after suffering facial and jaw injuries during a training session over the weekend. The injury means that Carlo Cudicini will remain as the Blues’ starting goalkeeper for the team’s crucial Champions League quarterfinal second-leg against Fenerbahce on Tuesday.
Peter Crouch wants a new club
Everybody’s favorite too-tall forward has finally figured out what most of us have known for months now. He needs to leave Liverpool to get steady minutes. Crouch admitted that he will likely leave Anfield in search of a starting job somewhere.
Gunners lose Rosicky for season
Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is out for the rest of the EPL season and might miss the European Championships with a knee injury that shows no signs of improving. It is yet another blow for an Arsenal squad that has seen a dream season turn into a nightmare pretty quickly.

Why is Matt Kassel not listed on the US U-20 Portugal roster?

Recently the big signings for City have been Samaras (Freddy Mercury) and Bianchi (don’t drink alcohol anywhere near him) and now they are rumored to be going after Ronaldinho. Big change, but if he was in decent shape, playing along side Petrov and Elano, with Bojinov in front of them, they would be an improved side, still need 4 or 5 players because the squad lacks the quality depth needed to compete for a whole season.

Why Doesn’t Red Bull seek out Ronaldinho? Grow some….Drop Reyna and Make it happen, it couldn’t come at a better time. Last year at GS…why dont we try selling it out like the Cosmos did with Pele! LA Galaxy vs NY Red Bulls….Becks vs Ronaldinho…come on MLS…we can’t live off this Beckham hype too long we need to get another star to keep up the soccer hype here in the US
$30 million per season? The best players in Europe end up topping out at approximately $10 million or so. There is no way anyone would come close to making $30 million, I don’t care who they are.
Not that it matters, because I don’t think even if that $30 million number was realistic he’d play for Man City. He’ll have his pick of clubs to play for, and he’ll be absurdly well compensated by whichever he chooses.

if everton doesn’t spend big, big money for a forward in the next transfer season, I wouldn’t mind it if they got Crouch.
His work rate will never touch Andy Johnson’s. But Crouch’s scoring rate should surpass Johnson’s. The question would be if a Crouch-Yak tandem would work.
Who needs him? We swept the Manchester Derby without him. 🙂

It can almost be completely ruled out that Ronaldinho would accept going to a club like Man City when world powers Milan, Inter, Chelsea and others are seriously interested. It would probably take something like $30-million/season to lure Ronaldinho to Man City. It would have to be crazy money like that.
A) If Man City somehow lands Ronaldinho, they automatically become players for at least a Champs League spot. How much they have to pay for him, of course, is the question…
B) Crouch, IMO, is underrated. He’s had a decent strike rate for England, and is oddly coordinated and skilled for a man as gangly as he. His goal this weekend was quite the finish, and he had a few other nice moves for ‘Pool. An aspiring mid-table side could probably get him for a decent bargain.
