No Kaka for Brazil tour of USA

American soccer fans hoping to catch a glimpse of AC Milan star Kaka during Brazil’s two-match tour of the United States won’t be so lucky. The 2007 FIFA World player of the year underwent knee surgery on Friday that will force him to miss Brazil’s friendlies against Canada (in Seattle on May 31) and Venezuela (in Foxboro on June 6).

More importantly for Brazil, Kaka could is hoping to be back in time for Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay on June 15 and Argentina on June 18.

Kaka’s absence strikes another blow to a Brazil tour of the U.S. that will already be missing Ronaldinho. There is still some star power, led by youngsters Alexandre Pato and Robinho.
