New York Red Bulls vs FC Dallas: Your Running Commentary

Red_bulls_logoFc_dallas_logo_2

Good evening folks. I’m coming to you from Giants Stadium, where the Red Bulls are set to face FC Dallas. Tonight marks the coaching debut of Schellas Hyndman, appointed as FC Dallas’ head coach earlier in the week.

The Red Bulls will be trotting out the same lineup they used to tie New England on Wednesday.

Computer problems will prevent me from doing my usual running commentary but please feel free to share your own thoughts, opinions and play-by-play on the action.

Enjoy the match.

  1. No wonder all the corner kicks (except one, I think), were inswingers. Dario Sala has the worst command of the penalty area of any professional keeper I’ve even seen. He looks as if he doesn’t even want to deal with any high crosses.

  2. well watch the replay on FSC today, but the refs this year continue to be absolutely HORRIBLE. I total understand its a tough job, but Woly was totally mugged in the box and NOTHING. Can they bring in some refs from a foreign league, these guys are getting it done. Good effort by the Bulls last night.

  3. Definitely not going to take anything for granted today, as FC Dallas were just awful. I mean they were terrible.

Having said that, what a great effing Saturday. How do people get by without tailgating? I’ll never know.

  4. Props to JCO for a job well done. To get these last 2 results, with the limited options we’ve had with the team we field out there is solid.

I won’t say you’re wrong, but I’m not so sure you’re right either. It’s hard to say it’s a good game or that one team played really well when the other team didn’t even feel like playing.

  6. The RedBulls played a very good game today, I guess you werent watching the game or dont know what good football is, but today they provided good entertaining football.

  7. Only caught the last 20 minutes or so. Dallas looked totally out of sync from what I saw. Schellas has got his work cut out for him. He’s a great teacher of the game but not sure if the man for the job in Frisco. Time will tell. Though I did like the game Abe brought tonight, good job of checking back, receiving, holding and linking with Cooper or a dive cutting midfielder. Davino is a joke.

  8. those of you wondering about the brek shea call up he was not slated to travel to ny for this game so the nats called him in. Just a chance to take a look at an olympic prospect.

  9. It’s half-time and it’s hard to tell how well NYRB is playing because at this point Dallas seems completely disinterested.

  10. Dallas is a team in serious trouble right now. They continue to underachieve on the field while they are losing fans in the stands. The front office is clueless and I think both the fans and players know this. As impossible as it seems with the roster they have, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were to finish in sixth place this season.

  11. Dallas playing uninspired soccer to say the least. It’s almost like their new coach is as depressing to them as he is to me.

  12. The referees are demonstrating just why it is hard for skill and finesse play to work in this league. That type of play always seems to be greeted with cynical tackles that go unpunished over and over again.

  13. It doesn’t seem like the skill and finesse play of the South American players on Dallas and D.C. United has been very effective in MLS this year.

  14. Bulls playing with passion so far. Sinisa has been on fire. Nice goal by Goldy…who is unfotunately suffering from hamstring issues!

  15. By the way, my laptop either has a faulty driver or a virus because my computer freezes after 10 minutes every time I turn it on. Talk about a nightmare.

  16. Dario Sala had been having a good game with two excellent saves on good shots from Ubiparipovich, but responsible for the goal as he just stands in the middle of the goal about a yard off his line, turning around in confusion, as the ball goes by to find Goldthwaite.

  17. GOAL RED BULLS!

FC Dallas had put a ball from a free kick into the area, only to whiff on the final shot, but the Red Bulls are the team who ended up scoring.

Kevin Goldwaithe scores his 2nd of the year.

  18. 21st minute- Oduro just showed off the wheels and it’s safe to say if he gets any good service he is going to blow by Boyens and Goldthwaite.

  19. NYRB scores on a free kick from Ubiparipovich that finds Goldthwaite at the far post who easily heads it in as the goalkeeper gets completely lost on the free kick.

  20. 15th minute- Poor backpass by Dallas almost leads to a corner for the Red Bulls, then is almost turned over again.

  22. 9th minute- The computer I’m on right now is running Windows Vista, so by the time I got myself sorted I tuned into the game just in time to see Echeverry trap the ball, turn on a defender and put a shot straight at the keeper. The Dallas defense gave him too much time on that one.
