Chicago Fire at Kansas City Wizards: Your Running Commentary

Kansas_city_logoChicago_fire_logo

A crucial Eastern Conference clash pits the Chicago Fire against the Kansas City Wizards tonight. The Fire will look to continue its impressive road form this year while KC will look to increase its unbeaten streak to six games by posting a second win against Chicago this season.

As you might have guessed, Chad Barrett is not in uniform for the Fire tonight, so we’ll see the Tomasz Frankowski-Chris Rolfe forward tandem for Chicago. Rookie Patrick Nyarko is in uniform so maybe we will get to see the young striker after all.

Can the KC attack put together another solid performance after netting three against Columbus last time out? Is that too much to ask against a Chicago defense that is best in the league?

If you will be watching tonight’s match, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Enjoy the match.

  1. After watching Nyarko today and the REd Metros earlier that JCO trade brings a smile to my face.

Im glad KFC asked for Barrett

  2. I’m watching this game, thinking “the offense isn’t getting it done, but at least the D looks good” – when it occurred to me that a Kansas City fan is thinking exactly the same thing.

Interesting how different the chances tended to be. Chicago’s best shots tended to come after an extended buildup, while NobodyBeatsTheWiz made hay in transition.

The Soumare/Conde tandem is the real thing: Commanding, mobile and calm.
