2008_016_22008_018

The red-hot Hoops of FC Dallas will take their five-match unbeaten streak to Crew Stadium tonight to take on a Columbus team that has struggled in recent weeks (1-2-2 in past five).

Dallas will be looking to keep pressure on Real Salt Lake and Houston at the top of the Western Conference standings while Columbus tries to regain second place in the East, as well as avoid falling into the pack chasing the final playoff spots in the East.

  1. 17k can be a bit sneaky in Crew Stadium b/c of the way the endzone seating works. You can fit almost 3k in the thin strip at the south end above the goal down there. Plus, you rarely see the seats on the bench side of the stadium (where the cameras/press box are located). Most of the season tickets are sold on that side, and it’s pretty full in the middle 5 sections there both upper and lower.

  2. MLSnet is reporting 17k+. It looked like a great crowd, but that seems a little bit inflated to me. I would have guessed around 15k. Either way, its good to see the Crew winning in front of a good crowd.

  3. Looks like a good crowd…but who can tell with the yellow bleachers and blinding sun…

Noonan and Cunningham starting for their new teams.
