I know Man United were missing players, but that was more than I hoped for coming into the match. The new signings looked good, and Owen and Viduka are yet to come back. I’m oficially excited about Newcastle’s chances this season.
Go Magpies!
Oh man, free kick NOW from THERE!
When the NY Jets won the superbowl in the 70s, they granted Broadway Joe Namath with his own country… years later Namath turned to harsh control and dictating politics to rule his own republic… JOE REPUBLIC
Okay, on FSC they just showed the banner for the start of the CCL. I checked the guide on my comcast box to see if had the teams. It did.
“New England at Joe Public”.
Is that a joke or the actual name of some team from Costa Rica I’ve never heard of?
For all those who thought Stuttgart was on the way down and that ‘Gladbach would be a surprise time… I point to today’s game. Good to see Mario Gomez back after a bad Euro 2008 🙂
Martins just had a gift ball, wide open on a corner, but the ball played him flatfooted and went wide! It looked like he didn’t expect it.
They’re frustrating ManU a bit. They need a goal badly though.
Lets go Newcastle!!! What an opening weekend upset this would be!
MAGPIES MAGPIES MAGPIES MAGPIES
Newcastle had a decent 1st half. Uphill battle at OT but they’re playing pretty well considering. The new boys DO look pretty good too.
Newcastle’s 2 new signings have looked good so far.
J. White is playing on the left, unusually for him (he’s typically on the right), and was involved in all best moves so far.
I guess Benny’s transfer was too recent.
Villa scores to go 2-1. Agbonlahor. I wish I could watch that game.
AGF-Brondby: Jerry White starts, Benny does not make the bench.
That’s about right. 1-1, a very good run to get on the end of that, with at least a dash of defensive ineptitude from Newcastle.
22nd minute, Martins got a completely free header, and fired it into the left corner of the net before Scholes could even react to it.
Completely undeserved lead, but I’ll take it.
well, that didn’t last long. Sorry Messiah.
2nd minute GOAL NEWCASTLE!!!!! MARTINS!!!!!
Villa – Man City 1-1 in the 65th. Carew for Villa, Elano for City on a PK. That game woke up.
Good for young Taylor. Second goal too in the 26th min., so it wasn’t a meaningless late one.
the first save was good, but to react to the rebound to stop Scholes was really great.
14th minute. Given with 2 more strong stops.
matt taylor scores on debut
Positioning save…smothered it with his melon.
ManU looks like they’re picking up right where they left off. That was a hell of a save.
Strike that, it basically hit him in the head. Still, as a Newcastle fan it was ragther thrilling.
Manchester Utd v Newcastle
7th minute: GREAT SAVE by Given to deny a point blank header!
Villa-City seems a bit stale so far. Just watching the game updates it looks like Villa has the better of the play but still 0-0 at half.
SoccerMan – The usual British poseur cr@p from TFC fans. You live in North America you dork.
Seems rather clear that Deco needed a new environment. Awesome performance today.
OOOOOOHHHH the redbulls are shyte!
