The CONCACAF Champions League resumes tonight as the New England Revolution and Chivas USA look to reverse results after both lost in the road legs of their home-and-home series.

The Revs are in a better position than Chivas USA, playing host to Trinidad & Tobago side Joe Public tonight at Gillette Stadium (8pm ET, FSC) trailing 2-1 in the aggregate.

Those of you north of the border might be interest in seeing the Montreal Impact take on Nicaraguan squad Real Esteli (1am, FSC). Montreal won the first leg of their series, 1-0, but must now hold off the Central American club in Honduras tonight.

  2. Ives,

Please look into what happened last night.

From the part of the NE game I saw and the comments above relative to the easy chances missed by Chivas these games were thrown. As a journalist you have the oblogation to do some investigative reporting on the rather odd play and inform us fans.

The players sent a clear message last night. What will be the response?

  3. Relax people!!! Oh no, its the end of MLS cause two injury-riddled teams lost some play-in games, oh the humanity!!! Look, the Serie A had a poor showing in the Champs League a year ago, so all the sudden its the Armenian League? These tourneys are cyclical and English teams could flame out this year. Is it disappointing…yes. End of the world…no.

    Get some prospective.

  4. Alexi Lalas did not say the MLS is of equal quality to the EPL. He said the MLS was more competitive than the EPL. He was right. The EPL is a joke league made of three dominant teams with one or two others with a look in. The remaining 15 teams are there to make up the numbers and act as cannon fodder for the big boys. The most interesting race in the EPL is to avoid relegation. More teams are involved with more at stake than in the championship race. La Ligua, for example, is much better balanced.

  6. Who are these chumps who are saying bad things about MLS based on this one game. Do you really think the Revs are that good? They dont have the international experience of DC or Houston. Save your judgement of MLS for the group play.

And we can all hope that Charleston beats D.C. as well to win the open cup and qualify for next year!
