This weekend’s Soccer on TV

You know what time it is.

The first of the Big Four clashes takes place this weekend as Manchester United travels the short distance to Anfield to take on Liverpool in this weekend’s juiciest match-up.

As you know, the Big Four is turning into a Big Five with Manchester City drowning in cash. Well, City gets its first test in the Big Five by taking on Chelsea in what will be Robinho’s debut. Fans at City of Manchester Stadium are sure to go crazy for their new signing and Chelsea will be eager to make him regret his decision.

Fans of Americans Abroad are in for some special treats as well, with several quality matches featuring Americans. Michael Bradley will make his debut for Borussia Moenchengladbach against Hannover and fellow American Steve Cherundolo. Teenage American striker Jozy Altidore and Villarreal will be on television as well, giving U.S. national team fans a chance to possibly see his La Liga debut. Potential U.S. national teamer Neven Subotic will lead Borussia Dortmund against Schalke 04 in a top Bundesliga clash.

Here are this weekend’s Top Five Matches:

1. Manchester United at Liverpool. Dimitar Berbatov makes his debut while Liverpool welcomes Riera

2. Chelsea at Manchester City. Talk about a can’t-miss affair. Robinho makes his debut against the team he spurned.

3. Schalke 04 at Borussia Dortmund. Battle of top German clubs will be the first chance for many Americans to see Neven Subotic in action.

4. Udinese at Juventus. Best match of the Serie A schedule should be a wide-open affair.

5. Independiente at Boca Juniors. Want a match with some passion, fire and crazed fans? This one is it.

  2. Sunday at 8:00AM EDT you’ve got 1 v 2 in Russia, Rubin Kazan v Dinamo Moscow, as the RPL enters the final third of the season.

    It’s not on TV in the US, as far as I know, but you should find it on that ESPN360 thing.
