  1. with a win, Szetela, davies and Orozco are most likely going to be brought back, with maybe Perkins as backup to Guzan??

lets not worry, we expected BB to start a large number of regulars for this game… remember it is still a needed win so that we can try out some new faces in the last 2 games…

  2. -Left-

    *Defender Jay DeMerit (hamstring)

    *Forward Charlie Davies (undisclosed knock)

    *Goalkeeper Troy Perkins

    *Defender Michael Orozco

    *Midfielder Danny Szetela

well as far as davies goes, it claims he’s been knocked, my guess is during practice…

Szetela will be in the next games, but i agree with eric, that he wouldnt have played any tonight…. with faces like Torres, Adu, Jozy and Edu more likely to get a look, i dont see where Szetela would have fit into the subs list ATM….

USA LINEUP: Howard; Cherundolo, Onyewu, Bocanegra, Pearce; Dempsey, Bradley, Kljestan, Beasley; Donovan, Ching. Subs: Guzan, Califf, Hejduk, Edu, Adu, Torres, Altidore.

    same lineup as T&T…

  3. That’s fine, Szetela was never going to see the field today anyways, and it’s more important to see Altidore and Adu. You already knew you were going to see Donovan, Dempsey, and Ching featured in the attack. It’s still qualifying, not a PS3 game.

  5. 87th minute- Russia hit the post!! Denisov ran at a loose ball and ended up getting a foot onto it, sending a ball in from the right side of goal, beating the keeper, but hitting the opposite post!

  6. 81st minute- Arshavin takes a shot that deflects off a German defender and right into Adler! He had another shot a minute earlier that missed closely.

Frings is getting ready to come for Germany.

  7. 74th minute- Arshavin and Berezutsky both go for a ball, and Arshavin takes a tumble in the penalty area. Arshavin tripped, and to his credit didn’t look around appealing for a penalty.

  8. 71st minute- Pogrebniak gets off a header that forces a save, but is called for offsides. This one was clearly the right call.

German sub: Gomez comes in for Klose.

  9. 66th minute- offsides call on Pogrebniak, who was alone in the center of the penalty area. He looked like he was played on by a defender, so I think it was a bad call. Still, he missed terribly on the shot he ended up getting off.

69th minute- yellow card to Berezutski, 2nd of the match (1st was given back in the 15th to Zurianov).

  10. 55th minute- A scramble in the penalty area after a corner kick nearly led to a goal, but the German keeper fell onto the ball before any Russian player could get off a shot.

  11. 51st minute- GOAL RUSSIA!!!

Arshavin taps in an attempted shot/pass from Aniukov, who worked hard to win a ball back that he lost after 2 blocked crosses, and it was his work that led to the goal.

    2-1 Germany.
