  1. As a Real Madrid fan, I obviously wouldn’t have a problem with Barca being on the opposite end of this scoreline, but this is beauty that simply can’t be denied. This looks like a varsity scrimmaging the jv. Just incredible. Everytime I watch Messi, he makes me think he’s even better than I already thought he was.

Plus, having Phil and Roy just brings the entertainment up another notch.

  2. Nobody to blame but me Ives. I actually came here for a quick second before putting the game on to see if there was any Red Bulls line up (I know its still early for that but figured I’d try anyway) and then I saw all the Barce comments.

This isn’t breaking news or anything, but boy is Ray Hudson a maniac. What entertainment.

  3. NNNNNNNNNoooooooooooooooo!!!!! I thought it started at 4:30 and just caught Eidur’s goal. I am so mad right now that I missed the first 30 minutes!!!!! I thought I was putting it on 2 minutes early and it turns out I am 28 minutes late.

  4. GOAL BARCELONA!!! Samuel Eto’o takes a BEAUTIFUL pass and turns on the magic in the box, juking a defender and slotting home past the keeper. Barcelona 4, Atletico Madrid 1 in the 18th minute. WOW

  5. Atletico gets caught napping on a free kick. They were still setting up when Messi sent the free kick in. Gregory Coupet didn’t even move.

  6. According to villarrealusa.org jozy is on the bench, and goltv announcers have said so as well. I thought Dempsey played well today too. Despite my early misgivings, if his being benched makes him hungry, and we get a lot of performances like these he’s going to be a better player for the motivation.

  7. Why was Dempsey not starting all along? He was getting great results at the international level! Maybe its because Hodgson is a moron, or he is simply prejudice against the American player? I have often wondered if the American player abroad feels prejudice from coaches and other players because he comes from a new soccer country like the USA?

  8. Not sure, haven’t seen a view of the bench yet. Just going with what the goltv announcer said right before the game started. He could be wrong.

  9. I’m all for letting the players play-on and not giving every little free kick, but this referee has missed multiple calls in this game, including a blatantly obvious Blackburn handball in the area. His performance has almost been as poor as Blackburn’s.

  10. I was hoping for a more competitive United v Blackburn match today. I understand it is crap weather, but Blackburn look extremely disappointing today. More times than not bad weather usually helps the inferior side. This would most likely be 5-1 if the sun was shining.

  11. Goal ManU, 2-0 64th. Rooney smashes in a cross from Ronaldo.

But it’s sort of a good thing for Blackburn, they get the ball again, something which hasn’t happened since the first 30 secs of the half.

  12. Roque Santa Cruz, who almost tied it 30 secs into the 2nd half, is pulled for Jason Roberts. Looks like a hamstring, as Al Michaels would say.

  13. There will probably be a lot of talk that the Wes Brown goal was really a foul, and it probably was, but that sort of flop ‘n flail defending doesn’t produce a lot of sympathy from me.

    Joe D – lol!

  14. Dempsey looked great today and even his manager singled him out as playing very well. Hopefully this will start to turn things around for him as his MNT form has really started to improve.

  15. Another big fat no-show by Berbatov. Tevez should be getting his minutes. Almost half time, and Blackburn might yet live to regroup.

  16. Goal Man U! Blackburn pay for not capitalizing on their early superior play, and Wes Brown heads one in off a short corner. Rovers want a foul on the keeper, but a better keeper (cough cough) would have cleared that cross.

  17. 25th min, Blackburn (sigh, no Big Brad anymore) are taking it to ManU, even though it’s still 0-0, and Rovers are one Darren Fletcher miss away from an undeserved deficit.

  18. This move for Michael Bradley looks worse and worse and everyday… Borussia M’gladbach continues to lose and Bradley continues not to play. They seem destined for relegation. Bradley should of just stayed in the Dutch league, had another great season, and then would have had such better offers.

  19. Good performance from Dempsey today. No goal but he was more lively than anybody in the Fulham attack. He’s earned another start.

  20. GOAL ARSENAL!!! Fabregas with a header off a corner in stoppage time to salvage a point for the Gunners. Great work by Fabregas to win that ball.
