Anything up today on the Impact and Islanders? Seems like Puerto Rico was unfortunate to get only a single point on the road in Guatemala.
Sporting with a fantastic display today. They will be better when Barca goes to Alvalade for their second meeting and may pull the upset.
I watched the most of the l’pool and PSV game (except for the first 15 minutes) and i have to say that PSV sucks! They didn’t press, they had no urgency, they didn’t play 1-2s, made very few overlapping runs, nothing! It was like they were looking for a tie and when they were down 1-0 and even 2-0, they were happy with the result.
I can’t believe how many times they would make two passes to the side and then back to the defense. And, their passes to their defense were so poor, the third l’pool goal was an indirect result (Torres gets a hold of a bad back pass, defense fouls, Gerrard buries the ensuing free kick).
I mean does it take much imagination to make some runs down the side and/or play some 1-2s? What about the Dutch philosophy of using space? An absolute disgrace to Dutch futbol!
Geez, I hate ESPN and their anglo fetish. Don’t they realize that most people that watch Champions League are futbol fans and want to see a good game versus a Premiership team? Damn, what a waste of 1.5 hours!
MESSI = Greatest on the planet. That second goal was f’n incredible.
Cluj survive and hold Chelski 0-0
Liverpool and PSV trade goals in a span of a minute, including Gerrard’s 100th for the Reds, now 3-1.
Sounds like Drogba has ligament damage to the ankle to go with a possible fracture. Still 0-0 in Romania.
Claudio Pizarro ties it up for Bremen!!!
Take that, Chelski fans.
Ack…Messi didn’t start, he comes on in the 60th.
With all matches halfway through, here are the scores:
Liverpool-2, PSV-0
Bordeaux-1, Roma-0
Cluj-0, Chelsea-0
Anorthosis-2, Panathinaikos-1
Inter-1, Werder Bremen-0
Shakhtar-1, Barcelona-0
Sporting-0, Basel-0
Athletico-2, Marseille-1
There are goals all around today. No match has reached the halfway point yet there are 10 goals on the board already.
Keane gets his first
2-0 pool
How about that Anorthosis?
Anyone know why, after all the fuss, Tyrone Mears has yet to suit up for Marseilles?
might take a miracle but id love to see Bremen beat Inter today.
