NCAA men’s tournament field set

The 48-team field for the 2008 NCAA men’s soccer tournament was set on Monday, with Marcus Tracy and the defending champions from Wake Forest earning the No. 1 overall seed.

No. 2 seed Maryland, No. 3 seed St. John’s and No. 4 seed Michigan State rounded out the list of top seed for a tournament that kicks off on Nov. 21 and concludes with the College Cup in Frisco, Texas on Dec. 14.

Here is a rundown of the first-round match-ups as well as the potential second-round pairings:

All first-round games will be played either November 21 or 22, while all second-round action will take place November 25. Listed below are the first-round sites and match-ups, as well as the site and opponent in the second round:

First round – Winthrop at William & Mary (Nov. 21-7 p.m.)
