the reason espn showed the united celtic game is because united has the biggest following base…biggest following base=more viewers which equals more money.
We almost held on!it was tough united were knocking on the door the the last twenty minutes so I wasnt really surprised we ended up letting one in.oh well, hows that for an atmosphere??Parkhead is second to none on champions league nights.
Great win for Juve, who won both games against Madrid now. I thought they stole the game at home, but they throttled Madrid today. The Sissoko-Tiago combo just owned the midfield. Other than Sneijder, nobody was able to create much, and neither RVN or Raul had squat to work with. And Del Piero continues as one of the hottest strikers in Europe, even if goal 1 was aided by defenders jogging with him without attempting to tackle.
My other Real Madrid comment is that I just don’t see why Casillas is getting so much pub as the best keeper in world, or one of the world’s best players. Very good? Yes, but I don’t think he’s a dominant player, and he lets in a lot of goals.
Not ALL futbol fans in the US like epl/anglo…mi amore Del Piero proved not only once but twice today, why Serie A is the best league in the world! Forza Ale! Thats a total of 3 champeon league golazos against Real in 2 games, for those of you keeping score at home! Forza Juve!
typical…
Espn chooses to show ManU-Celtic live instead of Juve-Real Madrid. No wonder football fans in the US have an EPL/Anglo bias.
I dunno. It’s easy to say that a sub should’ve been held out for Naka, but really, the focus was on making sure we kept the fort. Ultimately Man U was just too dangerous, but you can’t fault the tactics.
I think it was just a game of two halves. In the first, we simply outran Man U, and in the second, Celtic was just out of legs and couldn’t sustain that style and Man U just sat in our half and eventually picked the defense apart.
Not too many teams can gun straight up against Man U. Certainly not Celtic, who don’t have near the money. Great effort by our bhoys, certainly not anyone’s fault.
Can we get some top 25 love anyway, Ives?
92nd- Lucho keeps round of 16 hope alive for Porto.
Porto beats Kyiv 2-1
Well again a late equalizer from the English side and it looks like Man U will be able to hold on to their streak. Strachan should have given Naka a chance….does anyone know where Aiden McGeady is? Is he tired, out of form, NT duty?
GOAL MAN U! Boruc cant hold on to a 30 yard drive from Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs heads in the rebound.
Villarreal now 2-2.
Rossi took on 3 defenders for his goal…
Villarreal goes up 2-1
Rooney on for Tevez
Anyways, great play from Celtic. Playing well defensively although a few close calls. It seems our best chance of scoring is on the counter.
What i mean is that Holland leading USA at the half but USA had the posession. Then USA equalized, then they break the tie, and then lose it….I dont know just one of those things..
US v Holland? Huh?
Here come the bhoys…..I wonder if this will be like USA vs Holland…when you think about it…..
ey ey ey, Ives Galarcep, who is that winning the Manchester United game? Not Manchester United?
Yeah bhoys, we’ve got this!
Rossi for Villarreal in the 41st…
41st-the amerrr…umm…Rossi scores for the yellow submarine. aalborg 0-1 villarreal
44th-Juninho gives Lyon the lead against Steau.
34th-Pogrebnyak scores for Zenit. BATE 0-1 Zenit
32nd minute- Nani picks up a yellow card, the first of the match for either team.
Line-ups:
Celtic: Boruc, Wilson, McManus, Caldwell, Hinkel, Maloney, Robson, Hartley, Brown, Sheridan, McDonald
bench: Brown, Naylor, Donati, Hutchinson, Naamura, O’Dea, Caddis
Man United: Foster, O’Shea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Ronaldo, Giggs, Tevez
bench: Kuszcak, Evra, Anderson, Berbatov, Rooney, Park, Evans
Mutu scored? Will wonders never cease…
Kyiv up 1-0 against Porto. If the score holds up thats 4 losses in a row for Porto and they play Sporting on Sunday. I expect Jesualdo Ferreira to be fired on Monday. 😉
23rd minute- Manchester United head a corner on net, but McManus heads it off the line! I think it was Ferdinand with the header.
Celtic is up 1-0 on Man United in the 20th minute from a Scott McDonald goal in the 13th minute.
