Where will you be watching MLS Cup?

Mlscuplogo

Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls fans will be experience something 13 years in the making this weekend when they finally see their respective teams square off in the 2008 MLS Cup final on Sunday.

While hundreds of lucky fans will make the pilgrimage to Home Depot Center to see their home teams in the final, there will be thousands more who can’t make the trip and will be watching the event back home. Here’s my question to you Crew and Red Bulls fans: Where will you be watching?

Will you be in your home, wearing your faded Stern John or Roberto Donadoni jersey? Will you be at your favorite soccer bar? Will you be hiding under a bed with a radio and headphones, figuring the world must be set to end if these two teams were finally able to reach the final?

This is for those Crew and Red Bulls who aren’t making the trip (a post for those who are making the cross-country trip will come later). For those who are staying home, share with us where you will be watching on Sunday in the comments section below.

  1. I’ll be watching the game in KY on my dads 46″ HD. Wishing I was at the HDC. Rogers, Schelotto, and Gaven will tear NYRB apart. And you can’t get past Marshall. Go Crew!

  2. At my girlfriend’s house, watching on the big screen HD, sitting on the couch in the same spot I have been all playoffs. GO RED BULLS!! GIVE ‘EM THE HORNS!!!

  3. This year’s final was already played.

This thing coming up is an example of how broke the MLS playoffs are.

    I can’t imagine a bigger blow to ESPN’s ratings.

  4. Wish I had the money and time to go out to LA. But I’ll be at Nevada Smiths, making sure that it doesn’t rock any less with so much of the ESC out in LA.

  6. At Nevada Smith’s!!! In 2006 I watched Houston defeat the Revs with one other MLS fan in the bar! I have a feeling it will be packed this Sunday which will make it much more fun! Vamos Red Bulls!

  10. Watching at home in Stamford, CT. Since I wore a Red Bulls T-Shirt during the last win I want to wear it again. But my Metros T-Shirt is screaming: “No! Pick me! Pick Me!”

    Hmmm.

  13. I got a few tickets so four of us are driving up to LA from San Diego. I never been to a soccer game in the US. I hope it’ll be a good game.

  14. Don’t have TV in dorm room, so I might invade the dorm lounge to watch. I pity the poor people who have to share the room with me.

Columbus-NY seems a yawn-inducing game for a Revs fan. I’ll be rooting for NY, mainly because I have a grudge against Pat Noonan and the Crew fans, and have no such hard feelings for NY.

  15. I’ll probably have to look for it on the net 🙁

However I do have Sky( The English satellite tv) and on there Channel Five has a MLS highlites show so in the vain hope that they might show it live I did send an e-mail to the customerservice there.

Maybe a good idea for other fans living in England or have access to Sky to do the same?

  21. The MLS Cup will be on Regional Blackout…

The only place that will pick it up is Ruby Tuesday in Columbus and some dive bar in New Jersey.

Everyone else will be picking up the Mountain Dew 2008 Rock, Paper, Sissors Invitational held in Lubbock Texas.
