Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls fans will be experience something 13 years in the making this weekend when they finally see their respective teams square off in the 2008 MLS Cup final on Sunday.
While hundreds of lucky fans will make the pilgrimage to Home Depot Center to see their home teams in the final, there will be thousands more who can’t make the trip and will be watching the event back home. Here’s my question to you Crew and Red Bulls fans: Where will you be watching?
Will you be in your home, wearing your faded Stern John or Roberto Donadoni jersey? Will you be at your favorite soccer bar? Will you be hiding under a bed with a radio and headphones, figuring the world must be set to end if these two teams were finally able to reach the final?
This is for those Crew and Red Bulls who aren’t making the trip (a post for those who are making the cross-country trip will come later). For those who are staying home, share with us where you will be watching on Sunday in the comments section below.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
Deal with it.
I’ll be watching the game in KY on my dads 46″ HD. Wishing I was at the HDC. Rogers, Schelotto, and Gaven will tear NYRB apart. And you can’t get past Marshall. Go Crew!
At my girlfriend’s house, watching on the big screen HD, sitting on the couch in the same spot I have been all playoffs. GO RED BULLS!! GIVE ‘EM THE HORNS!!!
This year’s final was already played.
This thing coming up is an example of how broke the MLS playoffs are.
I can’t imagine a bigger blow to ESPN’s ratings.
Wish I had the money and time to go out to LA. But I’ll be at Nevada Smiths, making sure that it doesn’t rock any less with so much of the ESC out in LA.
HDC. I’d rather be nowhere else.
From Ruby’s with my luck scarf and a pint of amber bock.
i wish i was either at Nevada Smiths or HDC, but I’ll be in San Francisco. Anyone have any suggestions where i can see the game out there?
Go Red Bulls!
At Nevada Smith’s!!! In 2006 I watched Houston defeat the Revs with one other MLS fan in the bar! I have a feeling it will be packed this Sunday which will make it much more fun! Vamos Red Bulls!
Sitting at home with the 50′ HD screen with friends and family with one hot chicken cutlet parmigiana hero and one cold Italian hero. GO NY!!! GO RED BULLS!!!
Nevada Smiths
All up in Nevada Smith’s.
FUTURE FACT: NY will win the Cup, and 9mos. from now, the tri-state will see a spike in children named Juan Pablo.
JL – how are you a New England sports fan who bears no grudge against New York? You’ve got be a very rare cat indeed.
in my living room in bowling green Ohio! Go crew!!!!!!
Nevada Smith’s
I’ll be watching from the comfort of the Home Depot Center.
At my frat house, on the big screen, with a handful of local diehards at school. RBNY scarf and generic soccer jersey included.
GO NEW YORK!!!!

GO NEW YORK!!!!
Watching at home in Stamford, CT. Since I wore a Red Bulls T-Shirt during the last win I want to wear it again. But my Metros T-Shirt is screaming: “No! Pick me! Pick Me!”
Hmmm.
I always thought that there was no way I would not watch this Cup game in person but just too much going on right now.
Recording game on DVR. Will watch game as soon as return from my son’s soccer training that afternoon.
I will be taking the flight at 6:40 AM from JFK. I will get there at 10:00 AM to see the Red Bulls win
RBNY season ticket holders from Pennsylvania will be watching from home and sadly not at the HDC. Any other Red Bull fans from NEPA are welcome to join us!
the sweetwater, st paul, mn or at my house if nobody shows up.
rooting for the CREW!
At the HDC!!!!
I got a few tickets so four of us are driving up to LA from San Diego. I never been to a soccer game in the US. I hope it’ll be a good game.
Don’t have TV in dorm room, so I might invade the dorm lounge to watch. I pity the poor people who have to share the room with me.
Columbus-NY seems a yawn-inducing game for a Revs fan. I’ll be rooting for NY, mainly because I have a grudge against Pat Noonan and the Crew fans, and have no such hard feelings for NY.
cheering for the black and gold in New Orleans, LA, where everyone thinks my Crew jersey is from rowing.
I’ll probably have to look for it on the net 🙁
However I do have Sky( The English satellite tv) and on there Channel Five has a MLS highlites show so in the vain hope that they might show it live I did send an e-mail to the customerservice there.
Maybe a good idea for other fans living in England or have access to Sky to do the same?

Huge, long time RB fan…will be on a plane to London during the game. Very unhappy about that! Never thought they would get this far when I booked the flight! Go Red Bull!
My boy Alexi Lalas and I are going to be throwing back some brews praying for the demise of RBNY at our favorite soccer bar, Nevada Smiths.
