Where will you be watching MLS Cup?

Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls fans will be experience something 13 years in the making this weekend when they finally see their respective teams square off in the 2008 MLS Cup final on Sunday.

While hundreds of lucky fans will make the pilgrimage to Home Depot Center to see their home teams in the final, there will be thousands more who can’t make the trip and will be watching the event back home. Here’s my question to you Crew and Red Bulls fans: Where will you be watching?

Will you be in your home, wearing your faded Stern John or Roberto Donadoni jersey? Will you be at your favorite soccer bar? Will you be hiding under a bed with a radio and headphones, figuring the world must be set to end if these two teams were finally able to reach the final?

This is for those Crew and Red Bulls who aren’t making the trip (a post for those who are making the cross-country trip will come later). For those who are staying home, share with us where you will be watching on Sunday in the comments section below.

  1. In Texas watching my 54″ at home. Hoping that New York keeps it close until about the 70th minutes and then Columbus scores 2 or 3 more so we can hear all the NYRB fans whine about how close they came.

  2. I’ll be at Mulligan’s, and I’m sure there’ll be at least some sort of crowd there.

The party at Nevada Smith’s looks like a blast, but I prefer to be able to grab a pint without swimming through the massive crowd. Plus, I have a family commitment in the morning, and I suspect NS could be shutting the doors before I get there.

  3. I think the next question should be:

Where are we going to celebrate the Metro/Red Bulls victory? Times Square? Washington Square Park? Begenline ave in NJ?

Can all the supporters groups and fans come to an agreement as to where the festivities will be? The whole point of being a big market team is to get exposure and media coverage. How great would it be to get a picture of fans celebrating in Times Square on the back page of Monday’s Daily News….LETS GO METRO!!! VAMOS VACAS ROJAS!

  4. yea the crew will tear apart NewYork like they did the last time they played this year…o wait nvm they lost horribly in that game….what about the first game…o wait nvm ny won that too. Hmmmm come to think of it Rodgers Schelotto, and Gaven have never really tore us apart yet, and even our goalkeeper can get a ball past marshall. I will be watching Juan Pablo and Richard tear apart the crew At Nevada Smiths!!Last week the place went insane and this week should be even better.
