It appears that Iker Casillas is not a firm believer of the old cliche "money can buy happiness".
Casillas, 27, publicly came out and squashed reports linking him to Manchester City. The talks sprinkled out earlier this week and claimed that The Blues were prepared to dish out 150 million euros to Real Madrid for his services. City, which has found its trust funds sky rocket thanks to the Abu Dhabi United Group, were also willing to pay the Spanish goalkeeper approximately 13 million euros annually.
Casillas told Madrid's website that he is uninterested.
"I don't want to talk about (a move to Manchester City) because I'm very happy in this team," said the European Champion. "I've been here (in the first team) for nine years and this is bigger than anything else, this is where I'm happy."
Though he insists that he's happy with Los Merengues, we'll see if money talks in the coming weeks.
Crespo's agent: "We will evaluate the possible offers"
El Valdanito has had a tough time finding minutes during Inter's 2008 campaign and has only amassed three appearances thus far. Crespo's agent has said that once the winter transfer window rolls around, he and Crespo will seek other alternatives.
"He is a very great professional and he will continue to make himself available for Inter and for Mourinho, but when the transfer window opens again we will evaluate the possible offers. Up until now he's had a few from abroad but Crespo prefers to stay in Italy where there has not been direct contact."
Trezeguet to possibly come out of International retirement
Earlier this year France forward David Trezeguet hung up his international boots. Five months later, he's thinking twice about a decision which he stated to be "irreversible".
"Now I think the 2010 World Cup could be an objective for me," said Trezeguet. "I don't forget it. I have always missed Les Bleus and I still miss them today."
Though his relationship with France manager Raymond Domenech is shaky at best would the Juventus forward's decision to unretire be a wise one? It's tough to imagine him seeing much playing time being on a roster that already includes the likes of Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and Karim Benzema.
