The New York Red Bulls couldn't find the net in their pre-season debut earlier this week, but it looks like extra finishing drills paid off as they posted a 4-4 tie against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday in Bradenton.
Claudio Lopez opened the scoring for KC, running ontoa perfect pass from Josh Wolff to make the score 1-0 in the 35th minute. Mike Petke responded for the Red Bulls just three minutes later with a finish off a Jorge Rojas free kick.
Red Bulls speedster Dominic Oduro scored his first goal for New York in the 42nd minute when he raced onto a Dane Richards pass to give RBNY a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Wolff played provider once again in the second half, setting goals by Graham Zusi and Lopez to give the Wizards a 3-2 lead. Haitian national team striker and Red Bulls trialist Lionel St. Preux scored a pair of unassisted goals, one on a forced turnover he converted into a score, the second coming off a rebound.
The Red Bulls looked like they would record their first win of training camp, but Wizards defender finished off a corner kick in the 89th minute to leave the score tied 4-4.

What do you think of the result? Glad to see Petke and Oduro getting on the board? Happy to see Zusi contributing so much early on? Disappointed to see four goals allowed?

Conway, sub-ed in @ 46 let in 3 goals. Typical.
Why was Hall playing a holding mid? I thought he was a speedy winger???
Where is the Cuban Trialing with KC?
Wolyniec….why?
where is sassano?
This is still VERY early pre-season guys. These first few weeks are simply for taking a look at everyone (besides working on fitness and team chemistry), with the emphasis very much on trialists and rookies.
When they move to Argentina, you’ll see some guys cut and the team will begin to take shape more.
Still. 4 goals for each side. Not great defending.
– And Angel’s training in NY to prepare his back better for the season
I think that the important thing to remember is that there was only one goal surrendered against the A Team in the first half.
Where was Kandji and Mbuta for NY?
whats the deal with that Echevery guy? will he ever recover
If St. Preux is the real deal, what does that mean for Woly? There isn’t enough space for that many forwards.
Nice to see Arnaud and Watson play in the midfield together. They haven’t done that since high school.
He stayed in New York.
Where is Angel?
