If you were keeping a close eye on the Copa Libertadores because of the U.S. national team players participating in it then you will have one less player to watch for. Torres and Pachuca were eliminated last night from the Copa Libertadores by Universidad de Chile, despite winning the second leg of their home-and-home series, on Wednesday night.
Pachuca received a lucky break ten minutes into the game when Felipe Seymour commit a rough slide tackle from behind on Torres. Tempers flared between the two clubs on the ensuing skirmish and midfielder Mauricio Arias was given a red card for shoving Paul Aguilar's face.
But even with the one man advantage, Pachuca's hopes of reaching the Libertadores' group stage suffered a huge blow as their first-half goal from defender Carlos Rodriguez was negated by Marco Estrada's 58th minute equalizer.
Pachuca would add a late game-winner and even though the teams tied on aggregate (2-2), Universidad de Chile advanced on away goals. Universidad de Chile topped Pachuca last Wednesday, 1-0.
U.S. fans still have on American in the Copa Libertadores in San Luis and U.S. national team defender Michael Orozco.
