With the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 now in the rearview mirror, several participants return to league action today trying to either ride the momentum of European glory, or trying to recover from Champions League disappointment.

Whether it is Chelsea facing Manchester, Villarreal meeting Atletico Madrid or Lyon taking on Auxerre, there are plenty of match-ups involving Champions League teams today.

  1. thanks Deuce. I figure even with limited to no PT, Altidore will be our star forward at the WC so Bradley might as well bring him on to play at the Confederations Cup. I’m no fan of Ching but he is more useful at the Confed with us. Jemal Johnson, EJ, Cooper could all handle the Gold Cup with Charlie Davies being a standby supersub for the Confed.

  2. FULHAMUP, I agree that confeds cup strikers will be altidore, donovan, and ching, but goldcup will include altidore beause he will not have played much or started in the confeds. Then cooper and EJ. maybe we will even see Ching again, though it is a bit doubtful. I agree with you overall.
