    1. Keller’s long punts down the field are almost never won by the Sounders. Sigi should look at this and improve the effort in the air and or have Keller play short to the backs more.

    2. Jasen Anno shouldnt be allowed to carry cards, he doesnt get it. Wolffs card is one thing (Jasen Anno acting and caused the scuffle) but the Hirsig one was an absolute joke. I have NEVER seen a worse mismanagement of cards, NEVER.

    3. i don’t know where to post this question but here it goes: What is up with Altidore’s situation? Is he ready to go for the qualifiers or not? And what about a discussion for left back and left midfielder? Games are getting close for the MNT, so are we going to see the same thing as we saw against TNT or some changes, a big deal is the factor having to do with Jozy, and having one or two forwards, and then again, who is going to be the bench forwards, Jhonson, Cooper (maybe), Davis, and maybe even Wolff?? Plus, what is up with Kljestan and Torres futurewise? They have great potential, we all know Sascha has not been great resently but he as always been up and down, and Torres just really needs some more playing time with the MNT. And then there is always the second tier Gold Cup potential roster……who, why, and please……..I mean its a great opportunity to give young players a chance given the fact that the gold cup has no real meaning other than defending the title, I would love to see a lot of the previous under 20’s players in the mix they need a step up, Ferrari, Nugyen and them. More MNT news is always great, your opinion is always great Ives, thanks!

    4. My theory on the draws:

      a) The playoff format allows for teams to accept a draw. Teams know that too many losses could leave them out of the playoffs, but draws will keep them in the hunt. Look at the Galaxy. They have won 1 game this year and are only 2 points out of a playoff spot. Ridiculous.

      b) All MLS teams have basically the same level of talent. The league is too worried about one team sucking for too long which would cause fans to stop showing up at the games, so they divide up all of the best players.

Ives – I would like to see you write a post about this topic.

    5. Crispy, you seem to focus too much on poor defense/good offense, but there’s a problem with that theory: goal scoring. If you were correct one would expect to see lots of goals, but MLS has an extremely low goal per game average.

      Another possible reason:

Teams and/or players conserving themselves for a push later in the season.

    6. Ok….sooo is it just me, or is there a growing trend of games ending up in Ties in the MLS??? What’s going on/why’s this happenin?

      is it:

      Defense in MLS sucks alot

      Keepers suck

      Offense is too good???

Most teams all got the same skill level?

i don’t know, but it’s starting to get me impatient, out of all those though, i really think its the Defense, and maybe a little bit of teams all having the same skill level. But idk, culd be me, or sumthing really culd be up.

I love the MLS and i support it with all my heart and passion, and i wanna see it grow like if it were my own niece, but sumtimes its hard, what do you guys think??? Let me Know

    7. OK….just got home from the KC-Chivas game. First red card was very questionable, second red card was undeserved. Following 40 yellow cards were absolutely ridiculous. It seemed like the refs were getting free Chivas jerseys after the game or something.
      Very frustrating to watch.

    8. Sounders-Rapids was a really exciting game. Good crowd at the Dick too.

Madmax – I actually liked the changes Sigi made in the 2nd half. Having Zak and Le Toux switch sides got them both more space. Ianni was an improvement over Vagenas. Wahl provided needed fresh legs.

It’s true Sturgis didn’t have a great night, but I wonder how much of that was due to a bad midfield – Vagenas was a turnover machine in the first half and couldn’t provide the same kind of service to the wings that Alonso does. Hopefully he is not out long.

    9. Great effort by Sounders tonight. They drew Rapids 2-2 without their three best mids, Evans, Alonso, and Ljungberg. They even had a great chance to win, but Zakuani shot right into the keeper. Keller had three great saves to keep Green in the match. Montero looked good again.

Lowest rating of night goes to LB Sturgis, one of the worst defensive displays of year, of any player. Second lowest goes to Sigi, first for playing Sturgis and second for starting a questionable Alonso who came off in the first few minutes. And last Vagenas who continues his Galaxy tradition of passing the ball to guys with the wrong color shirts.

Question, is Ljungberg the new Reyna?

    10. Wow, LA sucks. I think the “can’t win” part outweighs the “can’t be beaten” part. If they should beat anyone it should’ve been Dallas. Really now.

    11. Why are there so many stinking draws in MLS this year? Too much parity, I say.

Bring back the old MLS style shootouts! Just kidding.

    12. Long story short….can’t use the Atdhe.net – but much thanks. One of these days I’ll enter the world of good computing and high speed internet at home.
In the mean time, I’ll just yell at match tracker and embarrass myself in public.

    13. Quakes down 2-0 after 12 min. have finally managed a decent shot on goal after 30, but more of the same. no one except hernandez defends with any heart.

    15. Judging by the always completely accurate ESPN match tracker…the Galaxy are dominating. Feels weird.

For the record, Ives, it would be nice if you would do a story on all of us green and gold Galaxy fans that are, years later, still sitting on the fence about whether or not we can support this other Galaxy team.

    16. what do you know….they’re ahead for once. the balding one from the geriatric one (well, one of the geriatric ones).

probably means they will concede three in the second half.

but donovan is unstoppable in mls. maybe only a little stoppable in portugal. maybe mostly stoppable in spain, but not totally stoppable. just sayin’
