Exactly what I was thinking when I saw Buddle go in one on one. I simply knew that Buddle would finish it. Then I thought if Barrett had the same scenario, he would of drilled it into the keepers chest, or put it 6 yards above the bar. Sad.

  8. No Torres or Adu.

    Ugh, indeed.

Next you’re gonna tell me Pearce is starting and Casey is going to be the lone forward.

  9. TFC – completely exposed. Marco Velez is not MLS quality, and they need somebody other than DeRo who can finish.

Also, they need to do something about the beer lines at halftime, because nobody gets back to their seat before about the 55th minute.

  10. and the scary thing is that Brazil took care of business IN Uruguay 4-0—-something that they haven’t done in 35 years. Yes, 35 years.

    be afraid, be very afraid.

  11. Edson Buddle starts a play from his own end and finishes off nicely to give LA a 2-1 lead in the 77th minute

  12. I think the fact that they will qualify veils significant issues that must be dealt with at USSF and how it is run. The coaching is simply not up to par.

  15. TFC-Gals are about to kick off. And for the record, South Africa didn’t “qualify” for the World Cup. As hosts, they don’t have to qualify. Just sayin’.

  16. @ eric,

    “the US hasnt played bad.”

WHAT WERE YOU WATCHING WED? USA was abysmal against El Salvador and Costa Rica, and lucked out against Mexico.

  17. Brazil 2 Uruguay 0 Half time.. Alves 12′, Juan 36′ Two defenders…Uruguay has missed soooo many chances Brazil has had 3 and made two…good game overall…Kaka looks like the old Kaka, Super fast, Robinho and his trickery excellent. Elano and Felipe Melo having solid games as well…

  18. the US hasnt played bad. everyone needs to calm down and let the men do his job. in reality it all comes down to the 11 players on the field. look at chicago with osorio, the dude got so much credit for chicago getting as far as the semis. now with NY we really see the potential when the players suck. NY wanted him bad and now they want him gone.

  19. If the US lays another egg today against Honduras, it will be time to make a change and dump Bradley. The team has looked totally uninspired under him, tactically inferior, and playing with a “Hope we don’t lose” menatlity. It will be time to resurect the talks with Klinsmann and set us up for a better run in ’10 than Bradley will be able to engineer.

Does anyone really see a Bradley-led team getting out of the first round of the Cup? Yes, we’ll probably qualify (only because FIFA has almost guaranteed that the US and Mexico will be there every time with 3.5 spots for a region with maybe 8 legit teams). This team needs an inspirational leader with fresh ideas and a coach who can help develop new players and promote them overseas.

  20. Turkey just blew a great chance! dude ran down the right side of the box and crossed it at the penalty spot but the turkish dude shot it wide left.

  22. Great to hear how the Iran/North Korea match in Pyongyang got moved to a stadium with a grass pitch because FIFA determined the artificial turf at the original venue was not up to standards. Even the so-called Axis of Evil gets more love from FIFA than the USA.

  26. Congrats to the USA! Bob Bradley, you did a good job, we got the win against Honduras, and we will allow you to stay through Confederations Cup! AFTER THAT, it will be time for you to step aside for the sake of the program. There will be a job waiting for you at Red Bulls Park…
